but instead I have to settle for raising one And what a beautiful blonde she is – on the inside and out! We were in Philly this summer and had a couple hours to kill before we took the kids to the movies and as we were driving past the coolness which surrounds my hubbys family, I look in the back seat at the girls and say, “soooo who wants to explore a little with mom?” Both of them, being raised by a photographer, knew just what I meant. Usually it is my youngest that is my very willing explorer buddy, but this time it was my oldest that took the bait. I was thrilled and we set off to see what we could find – love being in new places…

My daddy is in ICU in The Woodlands, and I have been traveling back and forth to be with him and my mom as much as I can. I will be here for the next five days, so I am trying to get caught up on my blog and some work while I sit at the hospital and wait for him to show us signs that he is going to recover. Most of you follow me on FB and have been keeping up with our struggles and have been praying for us for weeks. Thank you so very much for this. We appreciate the knowing that we are not alone in this fight.

I have so many pictures that need to be blogged – I will start with some I took of my Jaden last month – These were not in any way planned (which is the case with most of the pics I take of my kids), but I happened to have this great truck in my back yard for another shoot and didn’t want it to get away before I took Jaden’s pics with it with her guitar. She is just so fun and spunky – love this child of mine!

This mother’s day is bitter sweet for us I must say. I make a video for my girls grandmother’s every year – as kind of a recap of the girls last year as our mother’s day gift for our moms. This years video was a little harder to make. I truly kept putting it off, resulting in me being up until 3am Thurs. morning to insure I had it done and could get it mailed out in time. Mike’s mom left us for her forever home in Jan. of this year after fighting ovarian cancer. – so this will be the first year in 11yrs. that I wouldn’t be able to send her this video of the girls. Her b-day was yesterday as well so this weekend was tough all around, in one way, and exciting in another, knowing that Grandmom is no longer suffering and is now enjoying time with the Lord she loved so much.

All this said, I really wanted to make the video this year in memory of my sweet mother-n-law, and I wanted to go ahead and send pop a copy so like every year, he can sit and enjoy watching his granddaughters last year of joy! Jacey and I added a song to the end of this years video that we sang at Grandmoms funeral – It was the first time Jacey and I sang together (another bitter sweet moment), and a funny one trying to figure out how to quickly record us singing something in my office (quickly, because we were out of time) and also very unprofessionally using a video camera and computer speakers! But the thought was there and I know pop will appreciate us doing it.

Well, here it is – I pray all of you sweet mother’s out there have a very blessed day! And Grandmom, we love and miss you so much! The beach will not be the same without you this year – but we know you will be sending us amazing weather, and the kids will be dancing in your honor (dance with me Jaden, alright grandmom) – And we will try our hardest to eat as close to 5 o’clock as we can just for you!

The results after throwing my fit!!

Well, I must say I am very good about backing up my clients pictures in two or three different ways – the key to that last sentence is the word clients. I am more of a procrastinator when it comes to my own stuff. Well this came back to bite me a couple months ago when my hard drive crashed. The only pics I had on there that weren’t backed up where the last two sets of pics I took of my girls – Just so happens that they were my favorites of course – and so depicted my girls personalities at this stage. Well, after months of throwing a big huge hissy fit – I stopped to breath and decided I was just gonna have to try to do them over – Jaden was my first victim since she is getting braces on next month and I wanted to get them re-done before she got them on. And also because I am going to have to wait and do Jacey’s after the grass turns green again and her horse doesn’t look quite so much like a wooly mammoth! – So, no I am not loosing my mind and taking Jaden’s picture again in the exact same spot just months apart from each other – I am just trying to stop pouting and reminding myself that I am very lucky to have a child that pretty much doesn’t take a bad picture and also is 100% personality every time I take her out. – So although I am sad to have lost my last pics – I love these just as much – and I choose JOY!!

Like I said, 100% personality – 100% of the time – Love her!

Wow! I just can’t believe it! My sweet baby girl is 8!!

Jaden, you have done nothing but bring us sunshine, happiness and laughter since the day you were born. You have the biggest and most caring heart of anyone I know – WAY beyond your years. You are a blessing and a treasure and I call myself so lucky to be your mommy. Happy birthday baby girl! We love you so much!

So, you may never meet anyone who has as many pictures of their kids as me. I have to say I am pretty surprised that my kids have not gone on strike as of yet. Because for me to take pictures of my kids does not take much motivation on my part I must say. All it takes is simply finding a new spot to shoot and “needing” to check out my light, or remembering an old spot and thinking, well my kids would look cute there to right? LOL! Anyway, this was one of those times, and I must say these may be some of my favorites in a while – but of coarse I am a little bit biased!~

and yes, I know she has scraps all over her legs and toenail polish missing, but I must say that is what I love the most about the below pic – it is so truly her and I love it and wouldn’t edit that out for anything!

So I took Jacey on a 10yr old trip last week to New York – we could have stayed a month and still not have done everything we wanted to do – Our trip was way to short – but we loved every min. of it – well except maybe the freezing cold – but hey it didn’t snow or rain while we were there and we will call that a blessing! I hope this is an experience that she will always remember – I know I will!

I am constantly asking myself how I got so lucky. Have you ever had a time in your kids lives that you just think – man, if I could only freeze them like this forever? I am having that moment with my girls right now. They are so fun to be with, hang out with, laugh with. Can we just freeze time? Is anyone with me? I have two of the most amazing kids (remind me of this when they do something rotten will ya . Really they are about as cool as you get – they truly are my Joy! I love you sweet girls – don’t ever grow up o.k.!!
